Premier League: West Ham interested in Kurt Zouma with Frenchman keen to remain in London – West Ham are targeting Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma with Hammers’ manager David Moyes keen to acquire services of the French center-back. The London side has already brought in goalkeeper Alphonse Areola and are looking to bolster their defense before the start of the upcoming Premier League 21-22 season.
Kurt Zouma, who joined Chelsea from Saint-Etienne seven years ago has failed to cement a position for himself at Stamford Bridge. Current head coach Thomas Tuchel also sees him as a squad player with the German tactician often preferring to play the likes of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger alongside Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta in the heart of Chelsea’s defense.

Deemed surplus of requirements by the Champions League winners, Zouma is looking for a way out and seek a future away from Chelsea. The London based outfit are also looking to offload the Frenchman and are reported to use him in a swap deal with Sevilla which could see Jules Kounde join the Blues with Zouma going the other way.
Sevilla are also said to be interested in having the 26 year old defender on their books but West Ham find themselves leading the race with Zouma reported to prefer remaining in London over making a switch to Spain.
West Ham are willing to pay upto £20m for the 26-year-old which is a little far for Chelsea’s valuation of the center back with the Champions League winners determined on getting around £28m for Zouma.
The defender who recently won the Champions League with Chelsea was also a part of the French team participating in the Euro 2020. He is also said to be interested in getting clarity over his future to mentally prepare himself ahead of the upcoming footballing season which begins in less than 2 weeks.
