The 36-year-old will be in his second stint at Man United having played in England between 2003 to 2009. He spent six years in Manchester where he donned the iconic No.7 jersey. He is often known as ‘CR7’ as the number seven is synonymous with him. As the five-time Ballon d’Or winner heads back to Old Trafford, questions are asked if he can wear the iconic jersey once again, which is currently worn by Edinson Cavani.
For Ronaldo to wear the iconic number 7, Man Utd would have to sell off Cavani in the ongoing transfer window. However, the Uruguay international is still a key player for Ole Gunner Solskjaer and will remain in Old Trafford this season.

The No.28 holds sentimental value for the Portugal captain as he wore it at Sporting Lisbon during the 2002/03 season.

Ronaldo will also be available to take up his previously won Sporting Lisbon jersey number with the number 28 currently available at Man United. It was won by Facundo Pellistri last season but the youngster is set to feature for Alaves this season after securing a loan move, vacating it for Ronaldo
