Prime content head Subramaniam gets Amazon India charge


Vijay Subramaniam, Director, Content for Amazon Prime Video India has been stepped up as Amazon India Head. Subramaniam takes charge from Nitesh Kriplani, who has stepped down as Amazon Prime country head.

This is reportedly an interim arrangement till the time the company finds a suitable replacement for Kriplani.

“We are currently looking to fill this position and will let you know as soon as we have something to announce.  In the interim, Vijay Subramaniam, Director, Content for Prime Video India has stepped in to serve as his replacement till a suitable replacement can be found.  We will ensure a smooth transition while we search for his replacement,” exchange4media has quoted an Amazon India spokesperson as saying.

Subramaniam joined the global streaming service in the last week of June. Before this he was with Disney India where  he served as the Vice President – Content & Communication. He joined Disney in 2007. Subramaniam played a key role in the growth of Disney India’s youth channel Bindass; he steered the launches of successful shows like ‘The Trip’, ‘Girl in the City’ and ‘Emotional Atyachaar’ among others.
