India’s under-19 cricket team captain Prithvi Shaw has announced his arrival in the brand world.
Shaw has been roped in Shaw as the brand ambassador for its protein supplement brand Protinex. Shaw, leading India’s campaign at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand, has inked a five-year deal with global Danone, the global food supplement producer and owner of Protinex.
The young Mumbai cricketer will feature in key brand campaigns and initiatives for Protinex over the next five years as the face of the brand.
Commenting on the endorsement deal, Himanshu Bakshi, director- marketing, Danone India, said, “As thought-leaders, we at Protinex always aspire to think ahead of the curve, whether it’s the potential of protein or next cricketing sensation. Prithvi is a young sportsman who resonates very well with the brand’s promise and his association will support the brand drive the message of protein-rich diet for active lifestyle & good health. We wish him a wonderful World Cup and a promising future.”
“Protinex has been part of our household since my childhood, even before I can remember. Protein is important for the right growth and maintaining an active lifestyle. In fact, it’s not just important for sportsmen like me but for everyone across walks of life. I would like to thank Protinex for giving me this unique opportunity to contribute to the protein message in India,” added Prithvi Shaw.
Shaw has earlier inked ₹36 lakh deal with cricket gear manufacturers Sanspreil Greenlands to endorse their popular cricket gear brand SG, which in the past has been endorsed by stalwarts like Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, and Virender Sehwag.
The teenager also made headlines for equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring a century each on his Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy brand.
