The global governing body for the sport of volleyball, the Federation Internationale de Volleyball has recognised the upcoming Pro Volleyball league as an important development for the growth of the game in India.
The FIVB president has put it on record that the upcoming the Pro Volleyball League was an important step to develop the sport in India.
In a letter addressed to Volleyball Federation of India Secretary-General and former international player Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, FIVB president Ary S Graça has congratulated VFI on setting up a professional volleyball league.
“I congratulate you on the creation of the Pro Volleyball league in India. This is the most important step for the development of our beloved sport in the country. Developing the sport of Volleyball in India is one of the top priorities for FIVB and we extend all our support to the Pro Volleyball league in as many ways as possible,” Graca said in the letter.
The Pro Volleyball League, scheduled to start after the Asian Games 2018, will be played across two Indian cities in the inaugural year.
