PS5 India Pre Order: Official Retailers of Sony are forcing customs to buy PlayStation 5 in almost double of MRP: Yesterday we reported about the PlayStation 5 restocks which got sold out within minutes. As per the report, Pre-Ordering for PlayStation 5 restock started at 12pm on 17th May 2021 where it sold out within 5 mins from all retailers’ platforms. Now, according to the latest information, official retailers, who are taking care of PlayStation 5 sales, are reportedly forcing customers to pay double of the price of MRP.
Some official retailers have tried to force customers to buy the Playstation 5 at extra cost. According to reports of IGN India, “Many readers reached out to us and claimed that Bengaluru based official retailer ‘Prepaidgamercard’ and Delhi based official retailer ‘DT Zone’ have been asking the customers to pay nearly double of MRP. Both are the official retailers of Sony Corporation, developers of PlayStation 5. They are offering PlayStation 5 in bundles where PlayStation roughly costs for ₹49,990 INR but if we look into bundles and their price which have pricing around ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 INR. With this bundle cost, customers need to pay up to ₹85,000 INR which is nearly double of MRP of PlayStation 5.
“Sony India themselves scalped,” said esports consultant Aditya Shah to IGN India in a previous interview. As per reports of, IGN India asked the other Retailers & they revealed “You had to buy a ‘bundle’ if you wanted a PS5. For them to draw the line when someone wants to make a quick buck is ridiculous. It’s as if only corporations should be allowed to profit and no one else.”
”You think I want to take [PS5] cameras?! I know no one wants to buy them,” says one store owner. “But if I don’t buy a certain number from Sony, I won’t get access to other games and later restocks, what’s more is, the company could even reduce my margins, which makes it tough to stay in business.”
