Lahore Qalandars will host the struggling Islamabad United in a Pakistan Super League encounter at the Gadaffi Stadium later today (Wednesday).
Islamabad United, who have won only one of their four outings in the PSL 2020, may find it hard to redeem themselves against the charged up Lahore Qalandars, who are fresh off a heady victory against the Quetta Gladiators
What though goes in Islamabad United’s favour is the fact that their only win this year had come against Lahore Qalandars. Skipper Shadab Khan, had led from the front with the bat and the ball, to pull off an exciting one wicket win for Islamabad United.
Shadab will be aiming of some good support Luke Ronchi, the team’s best batter this season with 194 runs from five games, DJ Malan (131 runs in four matches); while Faheem Ashraf who had taken seven wicket from five outings can take the charge with the ball.
Shadab himself had added 153 from four innings, including an unbeaten 54.
The Qalandars, on the other hand, will look to veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, the second best scorer for Lahore with 113 runs and a strike rate of close to 140. Chris Lynn has also scored 107 from the four matches.
In the bowling department, their hopes will be pinned on pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has six wickets from three games, including a best of 4-18.
