PSL 2021: PCB likely to stage Pakistan Super League in UAE for remaining T20 matches- Pakistan Cricket Board is considering UAE as an option to host the remainder of PSL 2021. The development comes amid a fresh surge of COVID-19 cases in Pakistan. On Wednesday, all the six franchises in PSL 2021 had asked the PCB to shift matches from Karachi to UAE. A letter regarding the same was sent to the Cricket Board to reschedule the 2021 edition.

“Now, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) will announce the decision. If it decides that the league should be resumed, we will bio-secure Karachi and all matches would be played there,” a PCB spokesman told Reuters.

“If the NCOC does not give the go-ahead to PCB for holding matches in Karachi, we will consult the franchises to hold the rest of the tournament in the UAE,” he added.

In the last 1 week, Pakistan has reported 4500+ fresh cases of COVID-19 on a daily basis and there is a partial lockdown in parts of the country. It is notable that Pakistan announced a decision to curtail inbound flights to the country from May 5 to May 20.

All the PSL 2021 remaining matches will be played at the National Stadium, Karachi. For doubleheaders, the first match will begin at 5 PM PST while the second match will be played from 8 PM.
