PV Sindhu has landed yet another big endorsement deal. India’s most expensive female brand icon will endorse a multi-national tyre brand.
The official announcement will be made once, the Rio Olympics silver medallist is back from the BWF World Champioships in Glasgow, Scotand.
A deputy collector with the Andhra Pradesh State Government, Sindhu is No. 2 sportsperson behind Virat Kohli in terms of brand endorsements.
Post her Olympics success and commercial tie up with sports marketing company Baseline Ventures, Sindhu has moved up to be among the top five brand ambassadors in the country. Kohli, and the Bollywood Khans trio – Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir – are the other three. She has surpassed once number uno MS Dhoni in terms of number of brand endorsements in hand.
Sindhu is presently endorsing big brands like Nokia, Bank of Baroda, Vizag Steel, Shri Shri Ayurveda, Apis, Yonex, Moov, Myntra, Gatorade and Himalaya healthcare. She has also been a brand ambassador for Goods and Services Tax.
Sindhu with her consistency and reliability brings so much to the table, that Yonex has opted Sindhu to be the face of its aggressive marketing campaign for badminton equipment and apparel in China. India’s badminton princess in the Yonex campaign stands taller than any Chinese badminton icon. The Japanese brand is also endorsed in China by the undisputed king of world badminton – Lin Dan. But Sindhu has become the first choice for Yonex to promote its brand in the land of Lin Dan.
