Ronaldo ‘rejects new Real Madrid contract’: Report

Ronaldo ‘rejects new Real Madrid contract’

Christiano Ronaldo has reportedly declined to renew his contract with Spanish La Liga Club Real Madrid.

According to Edu Aguirre, a Spanish journalist who works for TV station El Chiringuito, the superstar is “angry” with Real Madrid following the deal which is currently on the table and has told Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, he wants to leave the club on June 30.

Apparently, and according to that very same report, Perez’s answer was “no”, assuring that Madrid will not sell the Portuguese star.

El Chiringuito did not explain why Ronaldo wants to leave the club.

Either way, this comes barely a few months after Portuguese paper A Bola had reported that Ronaldo was going to force a move away from Madrid during the summer of 2017. Ronaldo didn’t deny those rumors but ended up staying in the Spanish capital after completing a brilliant season with the club which resulted in a historic La Liga-Champions League double.

It will be interesting to see if this report gains some more traction during the next few days although neither Ronaldo nor the club is expected to address these rumors.

Aguirre further explains the decision “has been made” and this is not a financial matter, but that the four-time Ballon d’Or-winner feels he deserves more affection from the club.

Ronaldo believes the offer on the table is one more sign of how little Real Madrid values him. Aguirre insists the ex-Manchester United man loves the fans. However, he needs more love from the club.
