RR vs DC in IPL 2021: Prithvi Shaw began his IPL 2021 season with a bang. The Delhi Capitals batsman looked in sublime form in the opening match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he scored a quickfire 72 off 38 balls. The youngster showed the same confidence in the last training session before DC vs RR clash on Thursday.

In a video shared by Delhi Capitals on their official Twitter handle, Shaw was seen raining boundaries at will all over the park. DC caption the 23-second video as “On display, Prithvi Shaw’s range”.

Shaw after his splendid performance in the opening game was given the ‘Man of the Dressing Room’ Award by coach Ricky Ponting. The former Australian batsman was all praise for the 21-year-old.

RR vs DC in IPL 2021: Covid-19 scare in DC camp

Meanwhile, there is Covid-19 scare in DC camp after South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje was tested positive. He is asymptomatic and will not be available for the game.

Furthermore, Axar Patel, who had tested positive, joined the DC squad but is also likely to miss out on the clash. Ishant Sharma too is likely to miss the game with a niggle, because of which he missed the tournament opener too.

IPL 2021, RR vs DC Tactics & Match-ups:

DC will save Marcus Stoinis for Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson. Against the RR captain, Stoinis has bowled 12 balls, has only given away 18 runs but has dismissed him twice.

In the absence of their South African pace duo, Ashwin and Amit Mishra will be key to DC’s fortunes, having shared 46 wickets between themselves against RR and having not conceded over seven-an-over. Mishra also has an interesting record against Samson, who only managed to score 8 runs against the leg-spinner in 19 balls. However, of his 30 wickets in 19 games, he has dismissed Samson only once.
