IPL 2021 – RR Playing XI vs PBKS: Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium on April 12, without their two overseas players David Miller and Mustafizur Rahman. It will be a big headache for Rajasthan to find their replacement as the inaugural champions are already without their star pacer Jofra Archer.
IPL 2021- RR Playing XI vs PBKS: Why are David Miller and Mustafizur Rahman unavailable?
Miller left South Africa for India on April 5 and reached India the next day. He had left South Africa squad after 2nd ODI on April 5 against Pakistan along with teammates Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje (DC), Quinton de Kock and Lungi Ngidi.
As per BCCI’s SOPs for IPL 2021, “all players, support staff, and management entering the bubble need to undergo a seven-day quarantine in their hotel rooms. Every individual will be tested multiple times during this period, and upon returning the negative results, they will be allowed to come out of their rooms and commence outdoor training and practice sessions.”
Mustfizur Rahman had also entered the quarantine at Rajasthan Royals team hotel on April 5. He is set to complete the quarantine in the early hours of April 12. But, without any practice, it is highly unlikely to play the opening match.
