India’s biggest marathon event, Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM), is ready to roll next week with all the 41,700 slots for various runners having already been booked. With Standard Chartered and TCS among its top sponsors, the 14th year of the race will over $380,000 as prize money.
With at least 18 sponsors and partners, SCMM has chosen Bollywood actor John Abraham as the face for the event. Last year, the face of the marathon was legendary athlete Edwin Moses.

Runners beginning at 12 years to a minimum of 60 years in the senior citizen category will be following their passion for running at fitness on January 15 (Sunday). Bollywood and sports celebrities, business leaders and those who are passionate for the cause of running are seen in large numbers for the race.
