After Shraddha Kapoor has failed to pass the testimony to qualify as onscreen Saina Nehwal, her replacement to play the lead in the Saina Nehwal biopic Parineeti Chopra is leaving no stone unturned to fit in the role of India’s first Olympic medallist badminton player.

Parineeti’s commitment for the role goes beyond practising on court to hone her badminton skills. She is doing everything possible to emulate Saina’s game and lifestyle on celluloid.

Parineeti Chopra is reportedly devoting two hours daily to watch match footage and public appearance videos of Saina to get into the mind of the ace badminton player.

She has been prepping intensely to get Saina’s mannerisms and body language as well as how she conducts herself on and off the court, on point, according to news agency ANI.

“I am a visual learner,” Parineeti said of her preparation, in a statement.

“The most important advice that I got from my entire training team, Amole Gupte sir and everybody was that I must watch Saina’s matches. I haven’t watched that many badminton matches and I really want to play exactly the way she plays.

“So, watching her matches how she drops her foot, how she uses her hand, how she uses her racket, her aggression on the court that is something that I really want to imbibe as a part of my personality. So, I have to watch all her matches and videos,” she added.

Earlier, Shraddha had tried her hand at badminton and interacted with Saina on numerous occasions before opting out of the movie. It is not easy to fit the bill to perform an Olympic medallist.

The long-awaited biopic is expected to be released next year.
