Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu’s made an impactful entry in the glam world as they dazzled the ramp at the Lakme India Fashion week for their respective designers. The queens of the badminton court took the fashion world shocked with their glamorous avatars.

Social media accounts of India’s iconic badminton divas, Saina and Sindhu were abuzz with their glamorous images. The social media space dominated by badminton, brands and social causes was abuzz with posts dominated by glamour rather than sports.

Saina and Sindhu hogged the limelight at the Lakme India Fashion Week on Sunday, where the two Olympic medallists turned up for fashion designer Vanni Raghupanti and Misfit Panda footwear brand’s The Secret Garden collection respectively. Sindhu walked the ramp in designer footwear with the confidence of a seasoned pro.

The Rio Olympic Games silver medallist was the show stopper for “The Secret Garden” collection. “It is very important that comfort should accompany style and Misfit Panda’s shoe collection fulfils this promise,” First Post has reported her as saying. “I am excited to walk the ramp,” and “comfort is very important there.”

Fresh from her Indonesian Masters title triumph, Saina has posted her pictures from the ramp on her Instragam account and twitter handles. The first Indian shuttler to win an Olympic medal, said that it was a lovely experience to walk on the ramp for designer Vanni Raghupanti.

Saina had married fellow badminton player P Kashyap in December. She describe the fellow-Olympian as a lucky charm. “Everything is falling in place. It’s like a dream run. I never thought that after marriage, I would go on to win my first title after two years, which I was really hoping for,” IANS has reported Saina as saying.

“It has been long since I won my Super Series title, but I was happy that I could reach one semi-final and one final after that… Unfortunately, Carolina Marin had to retire after the injury but I think I was quite lucky to win the tournament,” she added.
