Samsung will be the title sponsor for Mumbai Indians for the next three seasons of the Indian Premier League.
The deal to replace Videocon has reportedly been struck at ₹ 25 crores per annum. This is one of the two best title sponsorship deals for the IPL franchisees. Chennai Super Kings is the other IPL team to get a similar value from their title sponsor The Muthoot Group.
With three title triumphs and 100 match wins under its belt, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance group owned IPL franchisee derives the best commercial evaluations.
Mumbai, India’s commercial Capital being the base and hometown of the team, also contributes significantly in terms of teams commercial games.
Insidesport.co was the first to report on February 8 that the Mumbai Indians have arrived at an understanding with Samsung to replace Videocon, who have been the Mumbai Indians’ title sponsors for the five successive years since 2013.
The IPL Mumbai franchisee has also roped in Goibibo as one of the two principal sponsors alongside Samsung. DHFL, Jio Digital Life and DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance are the three sponsors in the Associate category.
Mumbai Indians’ other commercial partners for the IPL 2018 are Kingfisher, Usha, Sharp, Burger King, Officer’s Choice Blue, Taiwan Excellence, Tic Tac, Munch, Performax, ESA, Jio Money, ticketing partner BookMyShow, event partner DNA, radio partners Radio City and Fever 104 FM.
The Mumbai Indians will start the Indian Premier League 2018 campaign, with the home game against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7.
