Sania Mirza has confirmed that the Indian film maker and sports entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala will produce a biopic on the tennis ace.
The contract between the six-time Grand Slam champion and the Screwvala’s film company is inked and the basic work on the film concept is underway. However, the work is still at formative stage of taking inputs from the tennis ace. Next comes, story, screenplay and casting before the shoot could start.’
“It’s great. The talks have been going on for a while. The contract was signed. We are just looking forward to it,” Sania said during an event, reports PTI. “It is still an initial stage. The director, writing, and casting are yet to start. It’s still a bit long way to go.”
A part of the story may well come from Sania’s autobiography Ace Against Odds, which she had penned around three years back.
The glamour girl of Indian tennis, Sania is married to Pakistan cricket star Shoaib Malik. Their love story could never come out in open and that will provide a good plot for a romantic entertainer.
The duo have recently had their first child – a baby boy.
“It’s normal because I’ve been around for so long. I think people see me and think that I’m probably 40, but I’m not (laughs). I came on to the scene so early in my life and, like I always say, I grew up in the media,” Mirza had said. “I grew up in front of the whole world, so I think they kind of forget how old I am. But, I’ve been saying this, I’m so fortunate to be able to write a book and have so much to say at the age of 29 already.”
