“See Champions, Be Champions”: Aamir Khan for Ultimate Table Tennis

India’s newest franchise-based professional sports league Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) is ready to roll on. And on board for its promotion is the Dangal Star, Aamir Khan.

In a newly launched promo-campaign on the UTT’s Twitter and Facebook page, sporting fans can catch Aamir Khan in dual of TT with his own counterpart. With a captivating film in the build-up to UTT league, the promo carries the same message- ‘See Champions, Be Champions’.

Aamir has shown his prowess as a wrestler in Dangal, a cricketer who wields his willow to score sixes in Lagaan and even inspired a generation of youngsters through his performance as an amateur cyclist in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.
But have you ever seen the perfectionist Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan use forehand smashes in an attacking display of Table Tennis?

Mr. Perfectionist in the promo is explaining what has he learned from all the sports film, he has worked for? He has a point of view that no good acting can make you appear a good sportsperson. Rather you should know how to play the game. And to become the best, you have to learn it from the best. Ending the promo, Aamir urges fans to watch UTT league, which will have the finest players from around the world, to become the best.

The UTT league commences its inaugural season from July 13 to July 30, with action-packed table tennis fervor for nearly three weeks. The franchises are club-based instead of city-based unlike other popular leagues in the country and features DHFL Maharashtra United, Oilmax-Stag Yoddhas, Dabbang Smashers TTC, iProspect Shazé Challengers, Falcons TTC (Bayside Spinners), RP-SG Mavericks who will vie for top honours. With the finesse of Sharath Kamal and the elegance of Han Ying in a Table Tennis arena, it will be a sight to behold for any sports enthusiast.

Ultimate Table Tennis will be hosted in Chennai and New Delhi with the final leg held in Mumbai. It will have 18 matches divided into 15 leagues, two semis and one final.
