Virender Sehwag might not have always liked a straight bat approach on the cricket pitch, but he believes in straight talk on all issues.
Sehwag’s concern for the martyrs of the Pulwama attack are not just limited to extending customary condolence messages. The former India opener has pledged to stand by the families who lost their important members on the line of duty.
In a rare benevolent gesture, Sehwag has offered to support the education of all the CRPF Jawans who are martyred in the cowardly attack on their convoy. “Nothing we can do will be enough, but the least I can do is offer to take complete care of the education of the children of our brave CRPF jawans martyred in #Pulwama in my Sehwag International School @SehwagSchool, Jhajjar. Saubhagya hoga,” Sehwag has stated in the tweet on his official handle @virendersehwag.

The tweet with the unconditional offer also carries a list of the names of all the 42 martyrs and their pictures.
The Sehwag International School in the Jhajjar district of Haryana is an ultra-modern education with luxurious boarding facilities. The residential standard 1 to 12 school is also equipped with international standard facilities for disciplines like athletics, basketball, badminton, cricket, equestrian, football, golf, lawn tennis, table tennis, squash, as well as an all-weather swimming pool.
Other facilities for the resident students include basics like a medical centre, recreation and outdoor activities.
The school has been awarded as the Top Boarding School in Haryana by the Education Today Group, India’s Most Influential Education Leader under AsiaOne White Swan Education awards, Most Promising ICT Enabled School as well as Fastest Growing School of Asia among various other recognitions.
Sehwag’s gesture will go a long way in empowering the kids with the most potent weapon – quality education – if martyrs’ families accept the offer. Away from the home, the residential school does not offer quality education, but also grooms its students to deal with all situations in life.
