Shahid Afridi’s daughter Aqsa to marry Pakistan quick Shaheen Afridi: Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi will get engaged to former Pakistan cricket star Shahid Afridi’s eldest daughter Aqsa. Shaheen’s father, Ayaz Khan, has reportedly confirmed the news to Pakistan media after both families agreed to the proposal.

Both families have had “long-standing ties” and the engagement ceremony will be held “soon” while the wedding will take place within two years after Aqsa completes her education.

Confirming the news, Pakistani journalist, Ihtisham ul Haq, tweeted, “With permission from both families, I would like to clarify the engagement rumours between Shaheen Afridi and the daughter of Shahid Afridi. The proposal has been accepted; it is thought that a formal engagement will be done within 2 yrs, following the completion of her education.”

“The reason behind this tweet is to clarify the suspicion caused by social media. With respect to both families; please do await their own official announcements as they are currently in talks. I would like to request all individuals to respect their privacy during this auspicious time,” he added.

Both Shaheen Afridi and Shahid Afridi recently played in the Pakistan Super League 2021 before the tournament was suspended after seven players tested positive for COVID-19. Shaheen began the tournament on high, scalping nine wickets in four matches for Lahore Qalandars while Shahid bagged five wickets for Multan Sultans.

Shahid, the former Pakistan all-rounder and a celebrated cricketer all over the world announced his retirement from international cricket in 2017 after playing 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is. In ODIs, he has scored 8064 runs while bagged 395 wickets.

Shaheen, Pakistan’s newest quick is just 20 years old but has taken 48 Test wickets in 15 matches including a career-best of 5/77. He has an impressive record in the ODIs too with 45 wickets in 22 matches including a 6/35.
