Sony Pictures Cluster channels have been the destination for the sports lovers in India as FIFA World Cup 2018 fever grips the nation. The BARC ratings for Week 25 (June 16-22) reflect major gains for the Sony Picture Network channels.

Sony Ten 2, broadcasting the FIFA World Cup world feed live, has registered 353% increase in the total impressions over its number for the previous week. The FIFA World Cup live broadcast has catapulted Sony Ten 2 from the fourth to the number 1 sports genre channel for Week 25 (June 16, Saturday, to June 22, Friday) in the Broadcast Audience Research Council television ratings.

Sony Sports Cluster channels are positioned strongly, occupying the first four slots among the top five sports genre channels. Star India’s free to air sports channel Star Sports First is placed fifth.

Sony Ten 3 and Sony ESPN, broadcasting the FIFA World Cup with the Hindi and regional (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bangla) language commentaries, too have gained significant eyeballs over the previous week.

In a week that also had two other major sports events – Kabaddi Masters Dubai, and the Ultimate Table Tennis league on Star Sports – Sony Sports Cluster and the FIFA World Cup have been the first choice for the Indian sports lovers. All the five sports genres shows for the week are FIFA World Cup matches.

Sony will be gunning for more eyeballs as the Week 26 will have the ratings for some intriguing battles when the likes of Argentina, Brazil and Germany were faced with the gruelling battles to stay afloat in the FIFA World Cup 2018.
