The 2nd edition of the SPORTEL Law Conference will be held on October 25, Wednesday, in Monaco. The international journal dedicated to football law – Football Legal – and legal publisher droitdusport.com are jointly organising the conference.
The conference, themed ‘Data and Analytics: A great opportunity to develop sports vs A threat to sports integrity and privacy’ will deliberate on various aspects usage and collection of sports data.
Sports organizations, teams, players, broadcasters and other private companies have become increasingly sophisticated in the data that they collect, use, control and monetize.
Professional sports constantly seek new ways to improve performances, break records and reach a certain form of perfection. In this perspective, the recent rise of big data deeply changes the way sports is thought about.
Several leading international experts will debate on how the evolution of data raises unprecedented legal challenges for every sports stakeholder; how does data influence sports betting?; Is it now possible to predict (and avoid) sports injuries with the help of data?; and how does data analytics change TV viewers’ experience? at the 2nd edition of the SPORTEL Law Conference.
There will also be discussions an debates on the topics like Big Data: a leverage to combat illegal betting and match-fixing; the use & commercialization of data garnered by wearable technology; athletes right to privacy and use of data in connected stadium.
