Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) led by Rashid Khan bowled with guile and control to defeat table-toppers Delhi Capitals (DC) by 15 runs. Defending 162, SRH bowlers restricted DC to just 147/7 and register their first victory of the tournament in three matches.
SRH beat DC Match Highlights
– Rashid Khan registered his best IPL figures as he took 3 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs.
– He was ably supported by T Natarajan who bowled brilliant yorker after yorker to restrict Delhi Capitals in their chase
– Bhuvi also found some rhythm as he first got Prithvi Shaw out and than dangerous-looking Shimron Hetmyer.
– DC’s ploy to hit Rashid Khan backfired as Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant all were tamed by Afghan spinner’s guile
– Earlier Williamson made an immediate impact in his comeback match. He has solved middle-order crisis of SRH, scored fluently and held them together
– Warner – Baristow shines, added 77 for the first wicket.
SRH will be buoyed by the victory and have the ideal opponent to face next. Chennai Super Kings have lost their last two games and will be waiting for them in Dubai whereas DC go to Sharjah to take on Kolkata Knight Riders.
SRH beat DC : From Brett Lee to Virender Sehwag all are now Natarajan fans
Natarajan didn’t feature in a single game in his first two seasons with the franchise. After impressing all in the domestic events last two seasons, he finally breaks into the Sunrisers first XI.
On Tuesday night, he showed exactly why he was there: to bowl yorker after yorker and keep nailing them. In his third and fourth overs – the 14th and 18th of the Capitals’ innings – he bowled ten balls that could either be described as pinpoint yorkers – with a hint of shape into the left-hander as well – or balls too full to get under easily, or low full-tosses hitting the toe-end of the bat. The last of them got him the wicket of Marcus Stoinis, lbw playing across the line.
SunRisers Hyderabad clinches their first win of IPL 2020 by beating the table-toppers Delhi Capitals with 15 runs after delivering an all-round performance with both bat and ball on Tuesday (September 29).
Brett Lee took to his twitter to share his reaction and wrote: That’s how you bowl at the back end of an innings ! Outstanding Natarajan
