Some thing is wrong with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) these days. Announcements, Statements, decisions – and then going back on them has become a norm now a days. Just a week after PDC T10 Cricket tournament got cancelled, now SLC decided to withdraw permissions for UVA T20 Premier league after giving it a go ahead.
Just 3 days back, UVA T20 Premier League in Sri Lanka was announced. Four teams were to compete in this one week tournament and it was reported that the likes of Farveez Maharoof, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thilan Thushara, Dasun Shanaka and Ajantha Mendis would be playing in the competition.
But like PDC T10, UVA T20 Premier League tournament was also cancelled abruptly.
The reason, SLC’s legal team declared today in morning that the tournament is not authorized . Interestingly, the Sri Lankan board had earlier shown the green light to the tournament. But after the first day of the tournament when two games got played, on Tuesday SLC cancelled the tournament midway.
This is the second tournament that got cancelled in Sri Lanka, over the last few days. Earlier, the PDC T10 League was cancelled and Nuwan Kulsekara and Ajantha Mendis were reportedly set to feature in it.
