On The occasion of Women’s Day, Spanish top-tier division club FC Barcelona has signed Stanley Black and Decker as the official partner of the club’s women’s football team for the 2017/18 season of the women’s Primera Division league.
Industrial tools, household hardware, and security products brand will become the official sponsor of Barca’s women squad and will help bring fans closer to the team through exclusive behind-the-scenes content which will be shared across digital platforms and be promoted on the social media channels of both parties.
The company first became the official partner of the club during 2014/15 when it promoted its collaboration by activating with the men’s team across digital, marketing and merchandising campaigns and by providing access to once-in-a-lifetime Barça events and experiences. It will now do the same for the women’s side.
Inspiring the next generation of players to pursue their ambitions, the FC Barcelona Women’s team is challenging stereotypes and setting an example for young girls who aspire to be successful athletes – whether on the school playing field or at professional club level.
The financial terms of the deal between the club and Stanley Black & Decker have not been revealed.
Xavier Asensi, Barcelona’s commercial director, said, “Stanley Black & Decker has been a valued and longstanding official partner of FCB since 2014. Expanding our partnership to the FCB Femeni team feels like the right next step for the club and Stanley, a brand that shares our core values of effort, ambition and respect, among others, to support a diverse world where everyone is empowered to reach their full potential.
“Together with Stanley, we’ll find thrilling new ways to activate the full partnership across a range of compelling initiatives that will leave a lasting mark around the world.”
Mike Simpson, Stanley Black & Decker’s chief marketing officer added further, “We’re extremely proud to announce this global partnership. The FC Barcelona Femení team is breaking new ground and changing perceptions every day, promoting diversity and respect.”
“We feel honoured to support such an inspiring team in their rising success. We will never stop trying and with our shared passion for performance and delighting the fans of our brands, this association with FC Barcelona Femení is a perfect alliance.”
