Star India, the premier sports broadcaster in the country, has kept prominent sports channels out of its festival offering – Tyohar ka Upahar.
The 16-channel a-la-carte offering does not include Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 1 Hindi as well as any of the sports HD channels, which will be offered on special discounted subscription rates.
Among the regional sports channels, only Star Sports 1 Marathi is offered for ₹8 as against the standard price tag of ₹ 13. A one-rupee discount is being offered on Star Sports 2 and Star Sport 3 as the two channels and the festive offer will be made available for ₹ 5 and ₹ 1 respectively.
Star Sports First’s subscription has been slashed from ₹ 1 per month to only a symbolic ten paisa, same as NetGeo Wild.
“The Star network is known to offer best-in-class content inspiring a billion imaginations, making us a household name today,” said Sanjay Gupta, Country Manager, Star, and Disney India. “With this promotional offer for the festive season, we hope to spread even more cheer and get more families to experience and engage with our varied entertainment offerings,” he added.
The biggest ₹ 7 discount is offered on Star Plus, Maa TV, Star Jalsha and Asianet as all the four channels can now be subscribed for ₹ 12 each.
Star Vijay, Asianet Movies, Hungama TV, National Geographic, Vijay Super, National Geographic Tamil, National Geographic and NetGeo Wild are the other channels which the subscribers can opt for at discounted rates during the offer period.
