Star Sports has launched a city-based fan activation programme for the India Premier League.

Game Plan in Your City, to take place in the home cities of all the IPL franchisees, took off from the City of Nizam, the home of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

With an endeavor to bring sports fans closer to their IPL heroes and the game, Star Sports has launched a unique fan engagement initiative ‘Game Plan in your City’. starting today with Hyderabad. The experts on the show will reveal the game plans of all the franchises ahead of this year’s VIVO IPL 2018.

Commencing the caravan from Hyderabad, Star Sports experts for VIVO IPL 2018 Irfan Pathan and Akash Chopra along with show host Jatin Sapru interacted with the fans from Indus International School in Hyderabad. The young fans also got an opportunity to interact with of the current SunRisers Hyderabad squad – Deepak Hooda, Tanmay Agarwal, and Mehdi Hasan.

Speaking on the sidelines of Game Plan Pathan said, “With my role changing from opening bowler to opening discussions, it is great to be associated once again with VIVO IPL in 2018, as an expert for the Star Sports team. Game Plan commences its journey in Hyderabad today and witnessing the action on the ground, I would say it is a great initiative that provides fans with unprecedented access to players and expert opinions. With one of the most balanced squads, SRH looks one of the strongest contenders for IPL 2018.”

Former India opener and Star Sports’ cricket expert said “With a comprehensive line-up as a precursor to the VIVO IPL 2018, Star Sports has succeeded in bringing fans closer to the game and their favorite cricketing stars, with Game Plan. Being on ground amidst fans from Hyderabad, the excitement and enthusiasm from the fans was heartening while simultaneously discussing team SRH strategy along with other experts and players.”

Promising to make VIVO IPL a six-month extravaganza, Star Sports will travel to schools in Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore for a comprehensive discussion with the eight VIVO IPL franchisees leading up to VIVO IPL 2018. The telecast of Game Plan in your City shows will begin next month and fans will be able to enjoy the show in Hindi as well as English.

The show will be telecast across Star Sports HD 1, Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports First starting 10th March onwards at 9:00 am every weekend. In the lead-up to the tournament, Star Sports will bring 60 hours of dedicated programming per month featuring a daily dose of proprietary shows such as Game Plan, Cricket Countdown, and Franchise specific episodes.

The 11th edition of IPL starts on Saturday, April 7, with defending champions Mumbai Indians hosting two-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan Royals will kick-off their season with an away fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, April 9.

In addition to watching IPL in Hindi and English, fans will enjoy a deeply local experience with the addition of four regional languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali in this edition of VIVO IPL 2018.
