Star Sports campaign sets tone for intense India-Australia series

Tiger vs Kangaroo. That’s how Star Sports’ smartly crafted TVC depicts Australian cricket team’s forthcoming tour to India. The official broadcaster has released the 30-second video to kick start its campaign for the most awaited limited overs series.

Australia are scheduled to play five one-day and three T-20 internationals on their tour to India. The ODI series will start on September 17. The series will be a battle for supremacy between the two powerhouses of global cricket.

On expected lines for an Indian fan the TVC, with no elements of cricket, smartly establishes the Tiger prevailing over the Kangaroo.

A Star India Spokesperson, said, “This campaign is unique and different from any other sports campaign; and we are pleased with the response it has garnered. We look forward to some exciting cricket between the two powerhouses in the lead up to the festive season.”

The TVC has already been viewed over eight million times.

Former Australian cricketer Mike Hussey, said, “Winning in India has always been a priority for any Australian side and this series is a great opportunity for the Australian team to upset India at home. I am excited and I look forward to witnessing this great cricketing battle between two top sides and also to the Kohli versus Smith clash!”

This series will also define the next chapter in the rivalry between these two cricketing powerhouses and possibly settle the Kohli vs Smith debate as well.

This festive season, Star Sports brings to cricket fans in India exciting action from Diwali to Christmas. The India vs Australia series will be followed by India tour of New Zealand (3 ODIs and 3 T20Is) and Sri Lanka’s tour of India (3 ODIs and 3 T20Is).
