Fast bowlers have have turned out to be the choice of players during the early auction for the tenth edition of Vivo IPL.

Franchisees are choosing to go with the fast bowlers to make sure they have the firepower needed at the top and the death of the innings. Teams battled with each other to get the best fast bowling talent for their teams.

The bidding war for Stokes was expected, but the price that Mills has fetched has been a surprise. In other T20 leagues around the world, he plays for Brisbane Heat, Chittagong Vikings and Quetta Gladiators. While he has played just four T20 internationals, he does not have a record to write home about.

Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan could not find favour with the teams in the early hours of bidding. Franchisees will get another chance to make up their mind in the second half of the auction.

351 players are in the auction pool and teams have a purse of Rs. 143 crore to pick the best talent for their teams. Kings XI Punjab have the highest purse available at Rs 23.25 crore. At Rs 11.55 crore, Mumbai Indians have the lowest purse available for picking the cricketers they want.
