“If you remove my bias for India because that is where I am from and ask me to something else, I would put England at the top of the run there,” said Dinesh Karthik while he was breaking down the T20 World Cup fixtures along with Isha Guha and Darren Sammy.
England play a different brand of cricket, says Karthik
The 36-year old had all praises for the English players and backed them for primarily two reasons. Karthik believes that the Englishmen play different quality cricket and have set different standards of the game in the white-ball format.
“The brand of cricket that they have played. They have consistently shown other countries how to play this format right from ball one. They have shown it through 50 overs but more so in T20s. But also a well-oiled team can do with a solid captain Morgan.”
Observing the England players’ performances quite minutely over time, Karthik mentioned that their skipper Eoin Morgan has not been able to gather many runs with the willow.
“He has not got as many runs as he would like with the bat but I am sure when it matters I am sure he will stand up for them.”

Karthik hails Liam Livingstone, says he is a powerful hitter
The Indian cricketer lavished praises for Liam Livingstone and was impressed by his power-hitting skills and aggressive batting. He also acknowledged Adil Rashid and mentioned that the latter can do well.
“But the team he has found, he has found a few stars in a couple of weeks. Liam Livingstone, he can hit the ball from Dubai to Sharjah for all I know, he is that powerful. And you know there are a couple of guys such as Adil Rashid, someone who is doing so well.”
“These are critical players for England. If I remove my bias for India, I would put money on England. They are a solid team,” Karthik added.
Currently standing first in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, England would try carrying the same momentum in the upcoming prestigious ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The Three Lions have won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2010 and were runners-up in 2016.
