T20 World Cup: From Jason Holder, Sunil Narine to Faf du Plessis & Chris Morris, Top IPL stars who could not find a place in their national side – The ICC T20 World Cup is just around the corners and the cricketing Boards around the world have started announcing their squad for the mega event. India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, South Africa and West Indies have announced their squad for the T20 WC. Many stars from IPL missed the bus to UAE even after putting up a good show in IPL. Ben Stokes, Faf du Plessis, Chris Morris and Sunil Narine are some of the star Players who have missed the cut.

Shreyas Iyer – Delhi capitals – India

Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer, who was recovering from an injury since England’s tour of India has been sidelined by the BCCI for the T20 World Cup. He was supposed to be India’s number 4 at T20 WC but Suryakumar Yadav who has performed exceptionally well in the last two seasons of IPL was picked above him.

Faf du Plessis – Chennai Super Kings – South Africa

Chennai Super Kings opening batsman Faf du Plessis, who was one of the leading run-scorer in IPL 2021 and is in sublime form in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League, was not picked by the South Africa side in the 15 member squad declared for the ICC T20 World Cup. Faf has scored 320 runs in the first phase of the IPL.

Yuzvendra Chahal – Royal Challengers Bangalore – India

One of the best spinners in the history of IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal was shockingly kept out of India’s side for ICC T20 World Cup. Chahal was struggling with the form in the first phase of the IPL but he is India’s highest wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game which is why his exclusion was the most surprising one.

Chris Morris- Rajasthan Royals – England

Premier South Africa all-rounder, Chris Morris who represents Rajasthan Royals in IPL, was not picked by Cricket South Africa for the ICC T20 World Cup squad. Morris was picked up by Rajasthan Royals for an eye-watering ₹16.25 crore at a players’ auction. He is also one of the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021 phase 1.
