T20 World Cup: ICC opens Expressions of Interest for Media Rights opportunities ahead of mega event in UAE – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has extended an invitation to interested parties to submit expressions of interest for various non-exclusive media rights for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in relation to public screening and onboard rights. It offers a chance to acquire regional or worldwide public screening rights for the event. The event is scheduled to take place in the UAE and Oman from 17th October to 14th November.

In a release, the ICC shared its intention to partner for non-exclusive media rights for the T20 World Cup. The rights also include the opportunity to obtain transmission and exhibition rights for the upcoming event. It includes a variety of attractive content packages which could be transmitted via any in-flight or onboard entertainment system aboard any aircraft, ship, or train (but not an automobile).
The package also includes the transmission of the live feed and highlights programmes to all ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 matches, as well as a variety of ICC-produced programming. The ICC said that it is keen to partner with organisations that share in its ambition to continue to grow and deepen engagement globally in cricket.
The tournament, which was slated to be held in India, was moved to Oman and UAE amidst the COVID-19 situation in the country. The event will be conducted by the BCCI, with the Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground earmarked as the final venues. The event kicks off with the qualifiers on October 17 with the final scheduled for 14 November.
