Taliban in Afghanistan: Rashid Khan literally crying after Taliban take over Afghanistan, says, “Please save us”: The situation has completely worsened in Afghanistan as the Taliban have taken control of the capital city of Kabul. The dread of the Taliban invasion was so much that Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country and sought refuge in Tajikistan. In such a deplorable state, the famed cricketer- Rashid Khan is constantly requesting help for Afghanistan and its countrymen.
Recently, Afghanistan’s leg spinner posted an Instagram story mentioning ‘Can’t sleep.’ The story also saw Afghanistan’s flag with open hands emoji just right below, conveying the dire help the nation needs.
Kevin Pietersen sympathizes with Rashid Khan
Taliban in Afghanistan: Rashid Khan, alongside two other Afghanistan players- Mujeeb ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi is currently in the United Kingdom for the ongoing The Hundred tournament.
“There’s a lot of things that are happening at home. We had a long chat here on the boundary talking about it and he’s worried: he can’t get his family out of Afghanistan and there’s a lot of things happening for him,” Pietersen said on Sky Sports.
“For him to turn up and put on a performance like this under the pressure that he is currently under… for him to be able to forget that stuff and navigate his story and continue the momentum that he has – I think that’s probably one of the most heart-warming stories of this Hundred so far,” he added.
The 22-year old Afghan cricketer had earlier posted a Tweet requesting help from the world leaders on the tormenting situation in Afghanistan.
Dear World Leaders! My country is in chaos, thousand of innocent people, including children & women, get martyred everyday, houses & properties being destructed.Thousand families displaced..

We want peace.🙏

“As an Afghan, I bleed to see where my beloved country is today. Afghanistan descends into Chaos and there has been a substantial rise in calamity and tragedy and is currently in humanitarian crisis. Families are forced to leave their homes behind and head to Kabul with an unknown future, as their homes are being seized. I appeal to the leaders of the world; please don’t let Afghanistan go into chaos. We need your Support. We want Peace. #PeaceforAfghanistan #FreedomforAfghanistan #StopKillingAfghans,” Khan’s tweet said.
The Taliban invaders have taken control of almost all the cricket stadiums in the country. This has put question marks over Afghanistan Cricket’s future regarding the T20 World Cup which is just over two months away from kicking off in the UAE.
