Tata Communications will the distribution partner for MotoGP World Championship and Superbike World Championship.
The satellite network of Tata Communication will be used to distribute the racing action to over 80 broadcast partners. The content will help Madrid, Spain-based Dorna Sports distribute the video from any location to any devices for fans to catch the action.
Using its network, Tata Communications will connect each of the 18 MotoGP locations and also double the capacity for Dorna Sports.
Tata Communication will use a variety of technologies, like low-latency Ultra-High Definition (UHD), 360 degree and live OTT video feeds, remote production and high-dynamic-range (HDR) imaging to distribute the video.
“This partnership with Tata Communications represents a new, exciting step in how we manage the distribution of each race to our broadcast partners worldwide,” said Manel Arroyo, Managing Director, Media and Communications Area at Dorna.
Dorna has the exclusive commercial and television rights for MotoGP since 1992. It works with the racing industry primarily in Spain and Japan.
