Tata Motors Senior National Wrestling Championships LIVE: Top 5 wrestlers in fray on Day 1

The Tata Motors Senior National Wrestling Championships will start on Friday (tomorrow) in Jalandhar. The men’s freestyle competition on the opening will be followed by women’s wrestling events on Saturday. The Greco Roman competition is slated for Saturday.

61kg – Ravinder (Services) U23 World Medallist

Ravinder has won a silver medal in the recently held Under 23 World Wrestling championships. He had lost to Ulukbek ZHOLDOSHBEKOV of Kyrigistan in the finals. During the tournament, 22 year old Ravinder stunned reigning European wrestling champion Arsen HARUTYUNYAN of Armenia in the Semi-finals. All of these achievement in last 2 months proves what talent and potential this wrestler has. In absence of the likes of Rahul Aware, Ravinder’s main challenge would come from teammate Sonaba Gongane. It will be interesting to watch Ravinder’s approach in his first senior national championship as favorite for the title.

65kg – Sharvan – (SSCB)
