India versus Pakistan cricket. Rivalry on field is fought as a fierce battle. More like a war than sport. There are passions, patriotism and prestige. Not just for the 22 contesting there in the middle. But for billions of fans across the borders between to neighboring nations. There are ugly spats, too. More often than not.
Amidst all this prevail the camaraderie and sportsman spirit. The latest example is Team India’s gesture to express their respect to the veteran Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi.
The Men in Blue have sent a Virat Kohli T-Shirt, signed by the likes of Virat Kohli himself, Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah, Suresh Raina, Pawan Negi, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and Ravi Shastri.
One Faizan Lakhani had shared an image of the T-Shirt. The tweet read “Virat Kohli’s shirt, signed by Indian team, for Shahid Afridi, with a message “always a pleasure playing against you”.”

Afridi after an illustrious 21-year career had retired from Test and ODI cricket after ICC World Cup 2015. He continued leading the side in shortest format until the T20 World Cup 2016.
On February 20, 2017, he officially announced retirement from the game. Making his debut way back in 1996, the all-rounder has played 27 Tests (1716 runs and 48 wickets), 398 ODIs (8064 runs and 395 wickets) and 98 T20I matches (1405 runs and 97 wickets).
