Tendulkar to Gavaskar: Recalling his first interaction with Gavaskar, Tendulkar said, ”I still remember meeting you with Vinod Kambli in a function organised by the journalist association of Mumbai. They felicitated us after they had created the world record.”
Tendulkar furthered on the first-most advice that he received from the former batting maestro which was then followed by guidance on numerous occasions. Tendulkar asserted, “When I started playing for India in 1990. After Lord’s Test match where I was dismissed for 27, trying to nudge a ball which was not in line and was caught in the second slip.”
Tendulkar to Gavaskar: Continuing the conversation, Tendulkar mentioned Gavaskar’s advice given to him, “Let go off the ball outside, play close to your body.” The 48-year-old reckoned that the assistance helped him a lot henceforth.
