The Game Awards 2020: Among Us wins Best Multiplayer Game award, The Last of Us Part II bags Game of the Year title

The 2020 Game Awards are over and the event saw ‘Among Us’ win the award for Best Multiplayer Game and Best Mobile Game. Recently, the game received a massive update that improved a lot of features for players.

Notably, Among Us defeated Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Warzone, Fall Guys, and Valorant in the Best Multiplayer category. It beat out Call of Duty: Mobile, Genshin Impact, Legends of Runeterra, and Pokémon Café Mix for the Best Mobile Game title.

Among Us got the much-deserved victory, with the folks from InnerSloth being present live on video call to accept the award. Interestingly, the small studio behind Among Us was built by just three developers and launched two years ago to relative obscurity.

Meanwhile, “The Last of Us Part II” won the biggest prize of the night at the 2020 Game Awards – Game of the Year.

In addition to game of the year, The Last of Us Part II won several other big awards throughout the night, including best direction, narrative, action/adventure game, audio design and performance for Laura Bailey.

Other big winners were Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy VII Remake” (best score and sound and RPG), “Hades” (best indie game and action game) and “Among Us” (best multiplayer game and mobiel game).
