Sam Curran

England’s golden boy Sam Curran will be leading the Oval Invincibles in the inaugural edition of The Hundred. A genuine all-rounder, Curran has the ability to change the course of the game with both bat and ball, and his adaptivity to different situations across different formats of the game are likely to help him and his side during the tournament. He scored a brilliant 72 for Surrey as recently as last month in the Vitality Blast, while also picked up a five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in the ODI series that followed.

Jos Buttler

One of England’s openers for the T20 World Cup, Jos Buttler is perhaps open of the most devastating batsmen in the sport. Buttler will lead Manchester Originals in The Hundred and will likely open the innings despite the presence of Colin Munro and Phil Salt in the side. The Rajasthan Royals star has scores of 68, 59 and 21 in his last three T20 games, and should be one of the players to make a real difference on Thursday.

Jason Roy

Jos Buttler’s partner in crime for England will however line up for the opposition, with Jason Roy set to play for the Invincibles. Like Buttler, Roy arrives into the tournament in impressive form, scoring a match-winning 64 against Pakistan. With the likes of Sam Curran, Colin Ingram and Sam Billings to follow, the onus will be on Roy to give a good start to the Oval franchise in The Hundred on Thursday.

Lockie Ferguson

New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson will be featuring for the Manchester Originals during the inaugural season of the Hundred. An outright fast bowler, Ferguson will get help from the surfaces in England and has been in fine form during the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast. In his last game for Yorkshire, Ferguson returned with figures of 4/24, finishing with 14 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of less than 7.5.

Sunil Narine

West Indian ace Sunil Narine will be leading the spin contingent for the Oval Invincibles during the Hundred and will certainly be one of the players to watch out for. Narine has seen his stocks plummet since remodelling his action, while his skills with the bat have also waned in the past couple of seasons. The Hundred gives the West Indian an opportunity to bounce back, and perhaps return in contention fo the West Indies, where Fabian Allen and Hayden Walsh Jr have leapfrogged him in the pecking order.
