The Hundred: BCCI grants NOC to Harmanpreet, Mandhana, Jemimah and Deepti The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the inaugural edition of The Hundred. They are Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemmimah Rodriguez, Deepti Sharma. The 8 team league will kick off in July later this year. BCCI Women has already sent ECB the NOCs for their participation in four players.

It is notable that Mandhana- India vice-captain, in particular, had represented Western Storm in 2018-19. Earlier, she had said that BCCI and ECB are in touch regarding the NOCs.

The Indian players with The Hundred will continue to stay in the UK for multi-format series. The one-off Test will kick off on June 15 while the T20 and ODI series will conclude on July 15.

It is notable that the above players were part of now-defunct Kia Super League (KSL), ECB’s domestic T20 league.

The Hundred will start with a women’s fixture between Manchester Originals vs Oval Invincibles in London.

The teams are likely to be selected by head coaches as there is no players draft for the women. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, players with contracts for 2020 were rolled over to 2021 at the same salary cap or renegotiated with other teams. Teams can finalise their squads till June.

Some of the big names in The Hundred are Sophie Devine (Birmingham Phoenix), Meg Lanning (Welsh Fire), Marizanne Kapp (Oval Invincibles), and Deandra Dottin (London Spirit).
