TKR beat BR: Trinbago Knight Riders claim the top spot with an easy 6 wickets win over Barbados Royals: Reigning champions Trinbago Knight Riders have claimed the top spot in the ongoing edition of the CPL 2021 with an easy 6 wickets win over Barbados Royals in a low scoring encounter on Thursday. Put into bat. Barbados Royals managed to post 93/9 after wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Kyle Mayers (24 off 12) was the top scorer for the side whereas Khary Pierre was the pick of bowlers for Trinbago Knight Riders returning with 3-16 in his four overs.

In reply, Trinbago Knight Riders chased down the total in 16.5 overs with six wickets in hand, courtesy of Colin Munro’s unbeaten 41 off 47 deliveries, making a double over the Royals. Khary Pierre was adjudged man of the match for his 3-16 in four overs.

“It is good to contribute to the win. The bowlers went out there and executed the plan. Very happy to come out victorious. I am happy that I was able to bowl in the right areas and get the rewards. It is always good to win, we will enjoy and celebrate tonight,” Khary Pierre – man of the match as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Earlier, Trinbago Knight Riders secured a convincing 6 wickets win over Barbados Royals when both teams met for the first time in the ongoing season. Barbados Royals have now slid down to the bottom spot with just two wins in eight outings.
