India at Tokyo Olympics She will look to better her previous record after winning Silver in the 2016 Olympics as India awaits its first gold medal at Tokyo Games. The competition is likely to be evenly poised as the duo face each other after a long gap of over six years.

“There are a lot more responsibilities and definitely there will be pressure, even the last time in 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), I was not a known person, but I think now people are looking at me and knowing my game, I think it is comparatively tough and it’s not going to be easy”, PV Sindhu said.

India at Tokyo Olympics What comes positive news is that PV Sindhu has got the better of Polikarpova in the last 2 meetings and the trend is likely to continue in Tokyo. She will look to gain an advantage by making full use of unforced errors committed by her opponent. Having said that, Ksenia is known for hitting the right strides. She needs to be consistent enough when it comes to overhead smashes. The Russian can tire out India’s ace shuttler if she keeps playing high tosses with cross-court passing shots.
