Tokyo Olympics: Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia reveals his favourite wrestler to Harbhajan Singh in Instagram chat- Bajrang Punia, who won a Bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, revealed his favourite athlete/wrestler to Harbhajan Singh in an Instagram chat. He said that Jordan Ernest Burroughs of the USA is his favourite wrestler. The latter had won the GOLD medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Besides winning the Gold at Olympics, Jordan Burroughs is known for his plethora of titles in World Championships, World Cup, US Open championships, Pan American Games, Pan American Championships, among others. The decorated wrestler has won 24 Gold medals including Olympic games. The 33-year-old has also won 3 silver medals and 7 bronze.

Bajrang Punia won a bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 65kg category in the Tokyo Olympics after defeating Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov here at the Makuhari Messe Hall A Mat B on Saturday. Punia defeated Niyazbekov 8-0 in the bronze medal match. He has been showered with cash rewards since his victory.

However, Bajrang Punia is looking for the elusive gold in the upcoming Olympics. He is not satisfied with the bronze. Notably, he had suffered an injury ahead of his loss in the semifinals.

“I am not satisfied with bronze. I couldn’t give the nation the medal they expected,” Bajrang told reporters in a virtual press conference. “Doctors advised me to get rest due to my right knee but I wanted to train so that I can play for India at the Olympics,” he added.

 “I will work with my coach on my weakness and will try to work on my movements and will give my best in the coming tournaments,” he added.
