- In this events, the participants shoot over a distance of 50 meters in kneeling, prone and standing positions, using a 5.6 millimeters (0.22 inches) caliber rifle, with a maximum weight of 6.5 kilograms.
- The center of the target is positioned at 0.75 meters above the floor and its total diameter measures 154.4 millimeters.
- During the qualification round, every shooter has to fire 40 shots each in the kneeling, prone and standing position within a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Tokyo Olympics Shooting live – 50m rifle three positions LIVE: India’s shooting contingent has largely disappointed during the Olympics, but Tejaswini Sawant and Anjum Moudgil have a chance to rewrite that script when they take their spot at the range on Saturday. Sawant, who turns 41 in September, is a multiple Commonwealth Games medallist, in both the 10m air pistol and the 50m rifle. Tejaswini starred at the 14th Asian Championships, scoring a total of 1171, to book her place in Tokyo. Sawant will be competing in her first Olympics and will hope to ensure that the wait was worth it with a podium finish.

Tokyo Olympics Shooting live – Tejaswani & Anjum LIVE: As for Anjum Moudgil, she will be competing in her maiden Olympics as well. The 27-year-old won the silver medal at the women’s 50m Rifle 3-positions silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and will be aiming for a similar performance in Tokyo. She also gold medals in the 10m Air Rifle category at the ISSF World Cup events at Munich and Beijing. Sawant and Moudgil will hope to give it their best shot with the likes of Manu Bhaker, Rahi Sarnobat and Co. failing to make a mark.
