Tokyo Olympics: Team India spinner R Ashwin cheers for Indian athletes ahead of Tokyo Olympics – Team India spinner R Ashwin, who is in England for the five-match Test series starting from August 4, is cheering for the Indian athletes going for the Tokyo Olympics. BCCI’s official Twitter handle posted a video of Ashwin on Sunday. Tokyo Olympics is scheduled to start from 22nd July.

“The ace #TeamIndia off-spinner @ashwinravi99 is cheering for our athletes at @Tokyo2020. Let’s join him & #Cheer4India @IndiaSports | @Media_SAI | @WeAreTeamIndia,” BCCI wrote in the caption for R Ashwin’s video.

“The final countdown has begun. The stage is set for the world’s biggest sporting event – Tokyo 2020 – Go India, let’s cheer for India,” Ashwin said in the video. 

Earlier BCCI shared videos of Team India captain Virat Kohli, women cricketer Jhulan Goswami and former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar cheering for the Indian athletes going for the Tokyo Olympics.

Former India cricketer Suresh Raina also posted a tweet to cheer the Indian team at Olympics. “It fills us with immense pride to see our country represent at the Tokyo Olympics, my best wishes to the team! You have the nation’s support, go get it!@ianuragthakur @KirenRijiju @Media_SAI @IndianOlympians #Tokyo2020#Cheer4India,” Raina wrote on Twitter.

BCCI shared Virat Kohli’s video where he said, “Watch our Indian athletes on Tokyo Olympics.” BCCI wrote in the caption,”#TeamIndia captain

Officially Olympic Games will be opened on 22nd July, though the first competition (Baseball & Football) is scheduled for 21st July. Olympic Games will be played till 8th August. The Tokyo 2020 Games will feature a record 33 competitions and 339 events held across 42 competition venues.
