Tokyo Olympics Tennis: The host country’s superstar is out of the Tokyo Olympics. Naomi Osaka lost to former French Open finalist Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic 6-1, 6-4 in the third round of the Tokyo tennis tournament on Tuesday.
Tokyo Olympics Tennis: The second-ranked Osaka, who was born in Japan and grew up in the United States, struggled with her usually reliable groundstrokes.
Naomi Osaka has been eliminated from the women’s singles tournament.

The 42nd-ranked Vondrousova produced a series of drop-shot winners and other crafty shots that drew Osaka out of her comfort zone.
Before this, World No.1 and Wimbledon champion Ash Barty has lost her opening round match to Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain. World No 48 Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain beat Barty in straight sets. The match finished 6-4, 6-3 in favor of the Spaniard. It lasted for an hour and 34 minutes.
Sorribes came out all guns blazing in the first set and Barty had no answers to what was being thrown at her, and in the end, she took the first set 6-4. Carrying on with her momentum, Sorribes kept on her charge in the second set, winning it 6-3, and as a result, she wrapped up the match in straight sets.

Osaka won her opening two matches in straight sets following a two-month mental-health break. But conditions were different Tuesday with the roof closed because it was raining outside.
