Triple H’s arrival a step forward for WWE India return- InsideSport

Triple H, as he is popularly known, arrived in Mumbai as WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative on Tuesday. The arrival added momentum to the earlier reports of WWE India return in December after a gap of two years. An official announcement for the same is expected soon.

The WWE star took to social media to announce his arrival. He shared photographs and a video of his arrival at the Mumbai Airport.

This is evident of the fact that WWE is betting big on the huge fan following it enjoys in the Indian market. Earlier there were reports of the return of WWE live action through the RAW-branded two events. They were reported to have been scheduled for the month of December to be hosted at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on December 7 and 8.

It was not quite certain if WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers – Sameer and Sunil – will be making the event since they’re exclusively competing on Smackdown Live.

However, the new reports suggest that the RAW-branded shows will be featuring Smackdown Live’s Jinder Mahal along with other RAW stars like Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, The Miz, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio, during his India visit last year had said: “India is one of the most important markets for the WWE and we want to make the already existing fanbase grow further. Several people from our company have come in the past and we have plans to come again. We just want to take wrestling to anywhere in the world where we feel it can be properly marketed and India is one of those countries.”

WWE has last toured India in January 2016 when live events were hosted in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The WWE – then branded as RAW tour of India – had first toured the country in 2002.
