UEFA Euro 2020: After being postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the biggest national-team tournament in Europe UEFA Euro 2020 kick off on June 11. Ahead of the much-anticipated competition, Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN), the official broadcast partner of UEFA Euro 2020 has launched a campaign called “Meri Doosri Country” that aims to attract football fans in India and show their unwavering support for a European nation, including Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, defending champions or Kylian Mbappe’s France.
The 2021 edition, originally scheduled for 2020, of the UEFA Euro 2020 will be the 60th anniversary of this competition since it began in 1958. The competition will continue to feature 24 teams after it was expanded in 2018. Sony Sports will broadcast the tournament LIVE on SONY TEN 2 and SONY TEN 3 (in Hindi) channels, starting June 11 in India.
As for the campaign, ‘Meri Doosri Country’ will give the audiences a chance to exhibit their undying passion for football, as they start supporting their favourite team from Europe at the UEFA Euro 2020. Through the campaign, Sony Sports aims to draw the attention of both fans and fringe-viewers to root for their favourite countries with the same passion and intensity as they would support their own country.
Fans will get to watch some of the best footballers in the world like Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann, Harry Kane, Toni Kroos, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe to name a few compete for the coveted title. Rome’s Stadio Olimpico will host the opening match on June 11, while England’s national stadium Wembley will stage both semi-finals and the final.
