CEAT is all set to keep the inaugural Ultimate Table Tennis League rolling. India’s leading tyre brand will be the title sponsor for the upcoming club-based table tennis league.
Commercial rights holders for the league, 11even Sports and CEAT have reached an understanding. “The terms, commercials and all other aspects for the tie-up are finalized between CEAT and the league owners,” a source involved with negotiations has exclusively confirmed to the InsideSport.co. “Both the parties now just need to sign on the dotted lines. Formal announcement will be made soon.”
The RPG Group tyre brand, CEAT has a long association with cricket. The brand has been endorsed by the likes of Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. Ajinkya Rahane is the latest star signing by the CEAT, which also has former Australian fast bolwer Brett Lee as a brand ambassador. Ceat’s association with cricket also involves CEAT Cricket Ratings and its surrogate product CEAT Cricket Gear.
The inaugural edition of UTT is scheduled from July 13 to July 30.
The six-team UTT will be played in Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. The inaugural match is scheduled for July 13, Thursday, at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru indoor stadium, while Mumbai’s NSCI at Worli will host the grand finale on July 30, Monday.
Radha Kapoor Khanna’s Dolt Sports-owned Dabang Smashers; RP-SG Mavericks owned by Sanjiv Goenka of the RP-SG Group; Rajesh Wadhawan Group’s Maharashtra United; ASK Group’s ASK TT Club; Olimax Stag Yodhas, owned by Kapil Garg and Vivek Kohli; and iProspect Challengers are the six participating clubs for the first year of UTT.
