US Open 2021-Sumit Nagal paycheque: India’s hope will pin on Sumit Nagal as India kicks off its proceedings in the US Open with Qualifiers ahead of the main draw. The 24-year-old has been at his very best at the hard-court event. He has gone from strength to strength in the last two appearances. He had played in rounds 1 and 2 in US Open 2019 and 2020 respectively. In the US Open last year, he became the first Indian since Somdev Devvarman (US Open 2021) to win a match in the main draw of the Grand Slam.

The Jhajjar-born professional will now be looking to progress further in the ongoing US Open 2021. If he is able to make it to round 3 of the US Open, he will take at least 180,000 USD. Meanwhile, the round 2 prize money has surged to 125,000 USD. As per ATP Tour, he has earned 148,541 from his singles career. He will pip his all-time singles record. Nagal had earlier won a paycheque of 100,000 USD in US Open last year.

Notably, the 24-year-old had played his first main’s draw at Grand Slams in US Open 2020. He has won 13 singles and 2 doubles titles.

US Open 2021-Sumit Nagal paycheque: As per the latest ATP Rankings, Sumit Nagal is ranked 165 in the world. In order to succeed at US Open, he needs to regain his lost colour since his Round 1 exit at the Australian Open. He had last won the opening round fixture at Tokyo Olympics but lost to World No.2 Daniil Medvedev. He had also played qualifier 2 in French Open but disappoint at Wimbledon.
